“The uploaded file could not be moved to” Error on WP
I found an annoying admin options when upgrading my Wordpress instalation to WP 2.1.2. It’s started when I try to upload picture to my post, the error stated is :
The uploaded file could not be moved to bla..bla..
Just like the old Wordpress version, I’ve created the “uploads” folder on wp-content directory, and set the permission to 777. But the error still shown.
Then I try to check some option on my WP admin panel, guess what I found!
On Options - Miscellaneous, I found that Store uploads in this folder was filled with wp-content only. Meanwhile the text underneath the box says “Default is wp-content/uploads.”
Yes, that’s the error! I changed it to “wp-content/uploads” and it works now.
The WP team should filled the box with “wp-content/uploads” since it was the default directory.

Hello, have you got any idea about solution of this problem? I have the same problem but “wp-content/uploads” does not work

I had this issue just after moving a clients WP site from a Windows host to our Linux Server. Turns out that their WP image upload dir was /images/blog which needed to be chmod to 777. Very unsafe actually, but it works now atleast.

Our site too is wordpress. I have encountered the problem that I cannot upload the image. The uploaded image could not be moved to “directory”. But the thing that is so weird is the path. Is this a valid path directory\subfolder\subfolder/wp-content/uploads???
Is this the one that is causing the error? Also, I can upload images perfectly before I enabled the xml sitemap plugin. Does this have to do with the error? I hope you could help me….
Thank you.
