No More Google PageRank?
For you who feel obsessed with Google PageRank, you may shocked by recent webmaster discussion and sparked by Adam Lasnk, one of Google technical worker. As he wrote, he emphasizes the importance of PageRank:
PageRank is an important signal and remains one of many effective measures of quality, but admittedly it’s often viewed and used/abused in ways that run contrary to the interests of searchers and webmasters. Still, a lot of folks find the PR information useful; it provides a great incentive to try out our toolbar and explore its other features as well.
Actually Matt Cutts has blogged that PR Updates are considered pretty much a non-event around Google. And I could say that Google PageRank is one of the most important Marketing tools Google has. So many people chase after pagerank and it keeps Google in everyone’s thoughts.
Google says they want to discourage link buying (read: Google Against Paid Links) , but they have effectively created the industry by valuing links in their algorithm and by publishing the value of webpages through the toolbar PageRank. So if Google wants to discourage the link industry, they should no longer publish PageRank. Doing so lets buyers and sellers of links have confidence in the link market.
In some ways, I found that Google PageRank still useful in some ways, such as assessing the quality of a link or quickly finding out if a website is new. There are no other signals for fast analyzing (do you analyze backlinks for each page you see?).
Anyway, if PageRank goes away, Google had better come up with something else to replace it. Otherwise, people will start chasing something else, such as Alexa Rank. And then many many many people will talk about Alexa and not Google.

well i thinks discussing about PR will never end since some people/company make its as their first priority in marketing system…howefer some of best seo as well did not give us how to full understanding in gaining good result in PR. This is more difficult because on updated terms on google about paid links..its ur choices man..leaving all about PR and and start enjoying ur web / blog without PR or just try some way trick to get good PR result. thats my opinion.
